Kalmykova Zinaida Vasilyevna  1927-2016

Since 1949, she has worked as an otolaryngologist, a surgeon, and a cryosurgeon.

Since 1972, she has worked at the City Clinical Hospital №60.

Since 1976, he has been actively applying cryosurgery methods in his work. In 1993, she initiated the opening of a cryosurgery and cryotherapy room at Hospital №60 (currently the Moscow Clinical Research and Practice Center). Liquid nitrogen (-196 C) was used as a refrigerant. Since 1977, all domestic cryomedical devices have been used in the work of Z. V. Kalmykova. Considering the gerontological profile of Hospital №60, where individual surgical interventions are not feasible, the cryogenic method is an alternative to complex surgical interventions. During the existence of the Cryogenic Room of Hospital №60, more than 40,000 patients have been treated, including those with oncological diseases (skin cancer - melanomas, basal cell and squamous cell cancers), as well as with precancerous conditions in gynecology, urology, otolaryngology, proctology and general surgery. To significantly improve the results of cryotherapy, Kalmykova Z. V. the «CRYO-SPRAY» device and the MR-cryodestruction method were introduced, which makes the success rate in treatment up to 98%.

The material of Z. V. Kalmykova's long-term work has been repeatedly presented at Russian conferences and international congresses in Paris in 1997 and annual congresses in Tokyo for 9 years, and about 16 publications have been published based on this.

Kalmykova Z. V. has been an advisor to the International Academy of Refrigeration in St. Petersburg since 2011. Her work has been awarded many honorary diplomas and awards.

She was a consultant at the «Edelweiss» Center for Medicine and Dentistry (LLC «Alexandria 24») on cryosurgical treatment.
