SEBORRHEIC KERATOSIS is a multiple benign skin neoplasm that is most common in older people. Spots, nodules, and growths of yellow, brown, and dark brown color with a diameter of 0.2-3 cm appear on various parts of the body, on the chest, face, neck, and scalp (см. КЕРАТОМЫ).

The disease is diagnosed in varying degrees of manifestation in 45% of people over 55-60 years of age. Seborrheic keratosis does not occur on the palms and soles. Patients with seborrheic keratosis are usually diagnosed with a family history, which confirms a genetic predisposition as a risk factor. Degenerative processes in the skin occur slowly. Over time, the foci become mushroom-shaped. The coloring becomes saturated, dark. Seborrheic keratomas are not malignant, despite the fact that rashes with seborrheic keratosis can be very large in area.
